2016 Camaro will be Manufactured in Lansing

2016 Camaro will be Manufactured in Lansing

DURAND, Mich.– We all need to give America’s best-selling performance car for the last five years a big welcome home. The word is out that the 2016 Camaro will be manufactured in Lansing! After 23 years, Chevy’s pride and joy is coming back to the state where the auto industry’s gears first started turning.

While it’s big news that the Camaro will be back in the state where the auto industry began, it’s even bigger news that the 2016 Camaro will be manufactured in Lansing at the Lansing Grand River Assembly Plant. The decision to manufacture the 2016 Camaro here will immediately establish hundreds of jobs for Lansing, and Chevy expects to add 500 more by the end of summer!

Chevy will invest $175 million into the plant to fund new tooling and equipment. Two robotic framers will be installed to improve dimensional control in the manufacturing process, along with three new paint systems used for colors specific to the 2016 Camaro– Summit White, Bright Yellow and Red Hot.

In our opinion, there’s no better place for the 2016 Camaro to be manufactured than our state capital. We love seeing Chevy improve our state’s economy through new jobs! That’s why we’re proud of our inventory of New Chevy Cars and New Chevy Trucks at our Genesee County Area Dealership
