Old Mission Peninsula 

A great outdoor destination in the Grand Traverse area is Old Mission Peninsula. It includes a historic lighthouse and general store. It also has some hiking trails, boat launches and beach areas. You should be able to find something to please the everyone!

Sleeping Bear Dunes

Sleeping Bear Dunes is a part of the National Park Service. It’s full of beautiful views and stunning beaches. It includes campgrounds and hiking trails, no matter what type of adventure you’re looking for, if you want to be outside, Sleeping Bear Dunes is where you want to be.

Dennos Museum 

If you’d like to get out of the sun or you need something to do on a rainy day, the Dennos Museum is your inside destination! It’s located on the Northwestern Michigan campus and features many rotating exhibits. The museum’s permanent display includes art created by Inuit artists of the Canadian arctic.

The Village at Grand Traverse Commons

These historic buildings once housed the Northern Michigan Asylum. Now they’re being redeveloped into shops, restaurants, and apartments. After you’re done checking out the commons, be sure to take a walk on the vast, scenic grounds.

Downtown Traverse City Shopping Area 

Even if you just like to window shop, the downtown Traverse City area has plenty to look at. From the plethora of restaurants and boutiques to the bakeries and beach just a block away, you’re sure to find something interesting to see or delicious to eat!
