DURAND, Mich. - It rolled off of the assembly line sporting with a fresh, functional, and capable new look and has been meeting the needs of truck users everywhere ever since. While some were hesitant, others (ourselves included) believed that the Chevrolet Colorado would alter the pickup industry as we know it. Now, we can disregard the naysayers and confirm our opinion as a FACT because the Chevrolet Colorado has been named the 2015 MOTOR TREND Truck of the Year!
In order to determine which truck would receive this top honor, each of the 9 contenders had to withstand MOTOR TREND's most meticulous truck testing program in history. Tests varied from instrumented and real-world road tests to Real MPG fuel-econmy testing at the MOTOR TREND headquarters. Each truck endured hundred of miles out on the road while being critiqued on acceleration, braking, maneuverability, and outward visibility.
The editors were completely blown away by all that was inside of the Colorado's perfect package. Between its attractive appearance, impressive handling, best-in-class fuel economy, and overall capability, the other contenders hardly stood a chance. After this midsize truck brought a laundry list of incredible traits to the table, a RARE unanimous vote determined that a the Chevrolet Colorado was the 2015 MOTOR TREND Truck of the Year.
