Chevrolet Shows Support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

DURAND, Mich., – This month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! All throughout October, many organizations and communities will be participating in fundraisers, walks, and awareness events. For the last six years, Chevrolet has shown support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Last year, nearly $1.6 million were raised by Chevy, and 84 charity walks were sponsored across the country. See how you can get involved in your community or on social media!

Get Involved

Chevrolet is encouraging social media users to show support for cancer survivors by using the hashtag #IDriveFor. For every post using the hashtag, Chevy will donate $5 up to $500,000 to breast cancer research.

Awareness Walks

Employees of Chevrolet and GM, as well as employees of Chevrolet dealerships, are encouraged to gather family members and friends to create teams for Making Strides for Breast Cancer walks. These walks provide fundraising opportunities and bring awareness to breast cancer research in our communities.

Chevy Motorsports

In addition to social media and social engagement, Chevrolet will be commissioning a pink Chevrolet SS Pace Car for two NASCAR Sprint Cup Races. For every caution lap at these events, Chevy will donate $350 up to $50,000. Breast cancer survivor special events will take place at both races.

We Are "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" at Graff Durand!

DURAND, Mich - We are "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" at Graff Durand throughout the ENTIRE month of September AND October! There are tons of events and activities happening in and around the dealership throughout the month to help raise money for finding a cure for Breast Cancer. Check out the full schedule of events below:

September 15th – October 31st: 

• $10 donation from Graff Durand for EVERY car sold! 
• $1 donation from Graff Durand for every Service Order written on Friday. 
• Pink Wardrobe Fridays in the BDC office, Sales & Service Departments. 
• "Up Front Parking Spot" Auction in the Sales & Service Departments. 
• Employees & customers who donate will sign a pink ribbon to hang in the dealership as well as receive a pink bracelet or pin. 
• Customers, survivors & loved ones will have the opportunity to sign our Pink Pin Striped Chevy Cruze! 

October 1st – 31st: 

• Chevy will donate $10 for EVERY Test Drive on EVERY Saturday in October! 
• Saturday, October 11th & October 18th "Making Strides" Events at Graff Durand. Stay tuned!
• Graff Durand will donate $5 for every Oil Change on Saturday, October 11th & 18th. 
• Graff Durand will be providing both the Durand High School Football & Soccer players with pink socks for their Breast Cancer games! 
• Sales Professional, Eric Kirchinger, and Customer Relations Specialist, Heather Finendale,  will be attending the following Durand High School Varsity Football and Soccer Games to accept donations. We will have our Pink Pin Striped Chevy Cruze at the Breast Cancer Games for survivors and loved ones of those of have passed due to breast cancer to sign.
• Varsity Football: September 26th at 7 PM vs Mt. Morris, October 17th Breast Cancer Game at 7 PM vs Stockbridge and October 24th at 7 PM vs Laingsburg.
• Varsity Soccer: October 1st at 6:30 PM vs Laingsburg and October 7th Breast Cancer Game at 6:30 PM vs Genese Christian.
