New Smartphone Capabilities in 2016 Chevy Models

DURAND, Mich.– Our smartphones have become and extension of ourselves. We carry them with us throughout the day, keep them just inches away on a nightstand as we sleep, and now integrate them into the vehicles we drive. And that integration is going even further with new smartphone capabilities in 2016 Chevy models!

Incorporating Android Auto and Apple CarPlay puts Chevy at the forefront of smartphone integration in vehicles! For the 2016 model year, 14 models will be equipped with new smartphone capabilities– that’s more than any other automaker!

Updated smartphone capabilities in Chevy’s 2016 models are facilitated through the automaker’s MyLink infotainment system, which allows you to access your smartphone’s features without picking up the device. The 7-inch version of MyLink is capable with Android and Apple, however the 8-inch version is temporarily limited to Apple. It’s likely the 8-inch version will add Android-capability later in 2016.

You already know that both operating systems are loaded with useful features and now they will be available in your vehicle! Android Auto features: Google Maps, Google Now, a Google voice feature and audio and messaging apps while Apple CarPlay features: Phone, Messages, Music, Siri and third-party apps. If you have a device equipped with Android Lollipop 5.0 or newer or an iPhone 5 or later, you’re ready to begin using these new features!

Finally, to make using these smartphone system features even easier, 2016 Chevy models will come equipped with a button on the steering wheel that allows you to control them with a simple voice command, helping you avoid distractions and drive safe.

Durand Memorial Day Parade Bike Contest

DURAND, Mich. – CALLING ALL KIDS! The Durand Memorial Day Parade Bike Contest is coming up at the end of the month and we want you to participate for the chance to WIN cash prizes. It's time to let your inner patriotic pride shine!

The Durand Memorial Day Parade will take on May 25th at 11am. This year, Graff Durand is excited to sponsor the parade bike contest to give our community children the opportunity to show off their red, white, and blue for the chance to win cash prizes! All your little bikers need to do is deck out their bike for Memorial Day and then meet at Hagle St. in Durand at 10:30am on May 25th where their bike will be judged on creativity, tributes to our Veterans of the Armed Services, and unique use of red, white, and blue. After judging takes place, two winners of $50 CASH will be announced – one from the girls division and one from the boys division!

Redesigned 2016 Chevrolet Malibu Photos

DURAND, Mich. – The 2016 Chevrolet Malibu is here, and it has been reinvented yet again. While the redesigned sedan literally just made its internet debut, exactly one year from now you'll be able to have one in your garage! And you're going to want one, trust us.

We're really not sure what more you could want in the stunningly redesigned 2016 Chevrolet Malibu. The 9th generation sedan is longer, leaner, and lighter which translates to inches added to interior legroom, increased fuel economy including an estimated 45 mpg combined on the new hybrid version, AND a 300 pound weight loss. How does a car get larger and lose weight at the same time? Through the use of super-thin high-strength steel, which is used throughout the Malibu's body structure. But better fuel economy isn't the only efficient aspect of the sedan. A new Exhaust Gas Heat Recirculation system also improves efficiency and reduces vehicle emissions by utilizing exhaust heat to warm the engine and cabin.

Of course entertainment features are just as important, and the Malibu is not short on those. Along with the sleek new console design, the 2016 Malibu is available with 4G LTE in-car Wi-Fi capability to keep you connected wherever you are. Plus, GM's advanced safety systems and driver assist technologies will accompany a new Teen Driver function that allows parents to track information such as maximum speed, miles driven and active safety features engaged, to ensure their teens are safe behind the wheel.
