Android Auto Now Available with MyLink Software Update

DURAND, Mich.––If you have an Android phone and want the ability to use it with your 2016 Chevrolet, you can! Android Auto is now available with MyLink software update and can be done only at Chevrolet dealers. See below for a list of qualifying vehicles.

The MyLink software update should take about 30 minutes per vehicle. This update can be received at Chevrolet dealers for no charge if your vehicle is compatible. Your Android phone must also be running Lollipop 5.0 for compatibility. Vehicles qualifying for the update will have an 8-inch MyLink infotainment system, and include the following:

2016 Chevrolet Malibu (excluding Limiteds)
2016 Chevrolet Impala
2016 Chevrolet Camaro (both convertible and non-convertible)
2016 Chevrolet Corvette (both convertible and non-convertible)
2016 Chevrolet Volt
2016 Chevrolet Colorado
2016 Chevrolet Silverad (including HDs)
2016 Chevrolet Tahoe
2016 Chevrolet Suburban

Chevrolet models with 7-inch MyLink Infotainment systems should already have Android Auto, requiring no update for the capability. 2016 Cruzes will already have Android Auto and Apple CarPlay installed, also requiring no update. Now, Chevrolet offers the most models with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay to keep you connected on the road.

The 2017 Chevy Sonic Gets a Fresh Look

DURAND, Mich.–– The Chevy Sonic has been known as a fun and sporty subcompact with great gas mileage and edgy look. 2017 will bring about some redesigned and upgraded features to enhance the subcompacts sporty attitude. This year, the 2017 Chevy Sonic gets a fresh look and will continue to stun on the road. Let's take a look at the new Sonic!

On the outside you'll notice an entire new front fascia. This new front end is built to complement its sporty attitude and is reminiscent of the new Trax and Cruze, overall making the Chevy line more cohesive. The new look is especially important as it lends to its appeal with new buyers looking for an efficient and affordable option. The exterior sports a new hood, LED lighting, and projector headlamps. The 2017 Chevy Sonic will come in an exciting array of colors including Brimstone, Arctic Blue Metallic, Orange Burst Metallic, and Cajun Red Tintcoat plus 15, 16, and 16 inch wheel options.

The 2017 Chevy Sonic won't fall short in technology or convenience features either. A new power driver's seat, and detailed gauge cluster make the interior feel more refined. Available for even more comfort there are the available heated cloth seats and steering wheel. The 7 inch infotainment system is also new, complete with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and 4G LTE Wi-Fi which allows up to seven devices to be connected.

Lastly, the 2017 Chevy Sonic may be small, but it sure doesn't lack in the safety you've come to expect from your vehicle. With the Sonic are features like Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert and more to let the driver know of potential dangerous crash situations. 10 standard airbags, Stabilitrak, and ABS are also included feature to keep the driver safe on the road.

2016 Chevrolet Silverado Updates to Help Drive Pickup Sales

Chevy Cruze Sales Pass 3.5 Million

DURAND, Mich.– Regarding customer trust and loyalty, the numbers do all the talking for Chevrolet. As Chevy Cruze sales pass 3.5 million, the rest of the automotive industry is left gazing in amazement across the aisle.

As Chevy’s top-selling vehicle, the Cruze recently achieved this new benchmark in sales across 115 countries. Its top markets include China, the United States, Brazil and Canada, but the Cruze did exceptionally well in its home country.

When Chevy Cruze sales pass 3.5 million, you can bet there has been an increase in sales. In 2014, Cruze sales in the United Sates shot up 10 percent from the previous year to 273,060, placing the Cruze at second-best in sales to customers under 25 in the United States. Cruze sales also showed a 35 percent increase in new Chevy customers and a 56 percent Chevy customer retention rate, while 23 percent of customers traded in their current Cruze for a new one.

These impressive numbers make way for the upcoming 2016 Chevy Cruze that will debut on June 24. The bar is set high for the next generation Cruze, but Chevy seems to be confident in their spectrum of new model features. To give you a glimpse, the 2016 Cruze is larger and lighter than the current model, and happens to be armed with 25 new technologies, two of which include the touted Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

New Smartphone Capabilities in 2016 Chevy Models

DURAND, Mich.– Our smartphones have become and extension of ourselves. We carry them with us throughout the day, keep them just inches away on a nightstand as we sleep, and now integrate them into the vehicles we drive. And that integration is going even further with new smartphone capabilities in 2016 Chevy models!

Incorporating Android Auto and Apple CarPlay puts Chevy at the forefront of smartphone integration in vehicles! For the 2016 model year, 14 models will be equipped with new smartphone capabilities– that’s more than any other automaker!

Updated smartphone capabilities in Chevy’s 2016 models are facilitated through the automaker’s MyLink infotainment system, which allows you to access your smartphone’s features without picking up the device. The 7-inch version of MyLink is capable with Android and Apple, however the 8-inch version is temporarily limited to Apple. It’s likely the 8-inch version will add Android-capability later in 2016.

You already know that both operating systems are loaded with useful features and now they will be available in your vehicle! Android Auto features: Google Maps, Google Now, a Google voice feature and audio and messaging apps while Apple CarPlay features: Phone, Messages, Music, Siri and third-party apps. If you have a device equipped with Android Lollipop 5.0 or newer or an iPhone 5 or later, you’re ready to begin using these new features!

Finally, to make using these smartphone system features even easier, 2016 Chevy models will come equipped with a button on the steering wheel that allows you to control them with a simple voice command, helping you avoid distractions and drive safe.
