Android Auto Now Available with MyLink Software Update

DURAND, Mich.––If you have an Android phone and want the ability to use it with your 2016 Chevrolet, you can! Android Auto is now available with MyLink software update and can be done only at Chevrolet dealers. See below for a list of qualifying vehicles.

The MyLink software update should take about 30 minutes per vehicle.  This update can be received at Chevrolet dealers for no charge if your vehicle is compatible. Your Android phone must also be running Lollipop 5.0 for compatibility. Vehicles qualifying for the update will have an 8-inch MyLink infotainment system, and include the following:

• 2016 Chevrolet Malibu (excluding Limiteds)
• 2016 Chevrolet Impala
• 2016 Chevrolet Camaro (both convertible and non-convertible)
• 2016 Chevrolet Corvette (both convertible and non-convertible)
• 2016 Chevrolet Volt
• 2016 Chevrolet Colorado
• 2016 Chevrolet Silverad (including HDs)
• 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe
• 2016 Chevrolet Suburban

Chevrolet models with 7-inch MyLink Infotainment systems should already have Android Auto, requiring no update for the capability. 2016 Cruzes will already have Android Auto and Apple CarPlay installed, also requiring no update. Now, Chevrolet offers the most models with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay to keep you connected on the road.
