DURAND, Mich.– If you weren’t wowed by last month's debut of the 2016 Chevy Camaro that will be manufactured in Lansing, MI, this should do the job. Prepare to battle against the wind when the 2016 Chevy Camaro goes topless next spring and you’re driving into the sunset.

The topless 2016 Chevy Camaro will make owning a convertible a breeze thanks to its electro-hydraulic power roof system, designed in the fashion of the coupe’s sleek body. The convertible will have the most advanced top on the market, capable of:

  • Fully automatic operation with latches that automatically release and secure it
  • Opening and closing at speeds up to 30 mph
  • Remote opening with the key fob
  • Staying fashionable with a hard tonneau cover that deploys automatically to hide the top when it’s lowered and stowed

“The 2016 Camaro coupe will set the benchmark for the segment in terms of technology, performance and design,” said Todd Chritensen, Camaro marketing manager. “Adding the most sophisticated top in the segment brings another level of refinement.”

The 2016 Chevy Camaro goes topless next spring, but that doesn’t mean the convertible isn’t just as cozy inside as the coupe. On a cool day, keep it warm inside your convertible thanks to its multilayered roof capable keeping things comfortable and quiet inside.

Don’t worry about the 2016 Camaro convertible falling below the standards of its coupe counterpart– the convertible has the same sleek, light design as the cope, with a reduction of 200 pounds from the former generation.

There’s nothing we enjoy more than the few warm months we get in Michigan, and the 2016 Chevy Camaro convertible makes that even easier. We’re looking forward to stocking a few of these next spring, along with some of the other New Chevy Cars and New Chevy Trucks that we keep at our New Lothrup Area Chevy Dealership!

2016 Chevy Cruze Changes the World

2016 Chevy Cruze Changes the World

DURAND, Mich.– For thousands of years humans have developed languages to communicate, but the 21st century has brought us into an age of using new symbols called emojis that can somewhat accurately convey thoughts and feelings.

On Monday, Chevy put out a press release hinting at news on the 2016 Cruze– transcribed completely in emojis. We had some trouble figuring out the symbolism, so we took the easy way out and waited for Chevy to tell us what all of the smileys and hearts meant.

Spoiler alert: If you wan to decipher the emoji press release yourself, stop reading now!

The gist of it is this: The 2016 Chevy Cruze changes the world after debuting June 24, 2015, at 7 p.m., at the Fillmore Theater in Detroit, and the new model has a list of updated features covering technology, design and efficiency to prove it.

The 2016 Cruze is sporty and smart, with an athletic design and technology to uphold 7 connected devices, 4G LTE Wi-Fi and, as the first in its class, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It’s also an efficient vehicle with an EPA-estimate 35 mpg highway, and a safe vehicle with 10 air bags and standard OnStar available for 6 months to keep a driver and 4 passengers safe.

The 2016 Chevy Cruze changed the world after revealing itself at the Fillmore Theater in Detroit, but for now all we can do is admire from afar– the new Cruze won’t hit global markets until spring 2016. Until then, take a stab at deciphering the emoji press release, even though you already know the news! Check your what you come up with against Chevy's deciphered version here.

If you can’t wait until next spring to get your hands on the new Cruze, consider going with one of the current New Chevy Cars or New Chevy Trucks at our Chevy Dealership Serving Genesee County, MI! You won’t be disappointed behind the wheel of a Chevy.

5 Things for Families to Do in Flint this Summer

DURAND, Mich.– Vehicle City, Bedrock, Flint Town, the 810– each moniker gives a brief glimpse of the myriad cultures that fill the city limits of Flint, MI. Many people would consider this bastion of 20th century American industrial progress– the birthplace of General Motors, in fact– to be a once-great city. We’re here to show you why Flint is still a great city connected to all of the assets and intrigue that accommodate other cities, and you can experience all of it with these 5 things for families to do in Flint this summer:

Huckleberry Railroad
The Huckleberry Railroad began in 1857 and might be the most famous staple of Flint. The railroad line was named as such due to its reputation for chugging along at a rather slow pace– a person could jump off the train, pick some huckleberries and get back on with ease. Over a century later, you and your family can experience history and take a scenic 40-minute train ride on the Huckleberry Railroad along the shores of Mott Lake, down to the Pere Marquette roadbed and into historic Crossroads Village.

5 Things for Families to Do in Flint this Summer

Wait, Flint has a museum district? They certainly do, and if you haven’t visited yet you’re missing out on a variety of cultural experiences. Take the kids to see on of the engaging exhibits at the Flint Children’s Museum, feast your eyes on the many collections at the Flint Institute of Arts, learn about the auto industry at the Sloan Museum or see the stars at the Longway Planetarium.

Are you an architecture buff, or looking to get a taste of the city? Head downtown and observe the variety of classic architecture, from Greek Revival to 19th Century Gothic buildings whose craftsmanship will immediately gain your respect. After feeding your artistic appreciation, get some food in your belly at one of the many restaurants along Saginaw St.

5 Things for Families to Do in Flint this Summer

After you’ve had your fun downtown, walk off your meal with a stroll on the Flint River Trail that begins near downtown at the University of Michigan-Flint campus and continues for miles. We don’t recommend walking the entire length!

The Whiting
After a long day of exploring and experiencing, relax in a cozy theater seat while you enjoy a play, musical or concert at The Whiting, Flint’s 2,043-seat theater near downtown. Past performances include Chris Isaak, Bill Cosby, STOMP, Rock of Ages and a multitude of other entertaining performances.

5 Things for Families to Do in Flint this Summer

Contrary to what many believe, there really are a number of fun things to do in this historic Michigan city just 66 miles northwest of Detroit. These 5 things for families to do in Flint this summer are just the beginning. Do some digging yourself and see what else Flint has to offer! Remember, without Flint we wouldn’t have General Motors, and who knows where Chevrolet would be then. In our eyes, every New Chevy Car and New Chevy Truck at our Flint Area Chevy Dealership has a dash of Flint built into it.

Recycled Chevy Volt Batteries Help Power Facilities

Recycled Chevy Volt Batteries Help Power Facilities

DURAND, Mich.– As a result of Chevy's innovative spirit, recycled Chevy Volt batteries help power facilities such as the GM Enterprise Data Center at its Milford Proving Ground, the newest GM IT building.

In conjunction with a 74-killowatt ground-mount solar array and two 2kW wind turbines, five used Chevy Volt batteries help generate 100Mwh annually for the new IT building, which is an amount equal to the energy usage of 12 households.

This isn’t the first time Chevy has taken a step in a greener direction. Volt batteries that are no longer useful under the hood have also been repurposed as bat houses and nesting boxes for endangered duck species.

So how do recycled Chevy Volt batteries help power facilities like the new IT building? The Volt usually gets power from a band of energy in the battery pack and leaves behind plenty of juice for stationary use. The leftover juice alone isn’t very useful to a Volt, but it can provide plenty of beneficial energy to a building.

Repurposed Volt batteries are also sustainable, as they can store unneeded energy and send excess energy back to a grid that supplies the Milford campus. The batteries also provide backup energy to the IT building in the case of a power outage.

Chevy’s innovative nature has propelled it to a level of environmental awareness that most other automakers have yet to reach. Taking charge of their energy usage and finding a creative way to mitigate wastefulness has earned the new IT building the LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.

Hopefully other automakers find similar ways to cut down on energy usage through innovative decisions like Chevy’s. But when it comes to going green, it’s unlikely that any other automaker will surpass the achievements Chevy has made. All you have to do is take a look at the energy efficiency of the New Chevy Cars and New Chevy Trucks at your Genesee County Area Chevrolet Dealer to see what we mean!

Chevy-Themed Father's Day Gifts

Chevy-Themed Father's Day Gifts

DURAND, Mich.– Dad’s are probably the hardest people to buy gifts for, and occasions such as Father’s Day call for giving more than the typical wrench set or screw driver. If your dad drives a Chevy, you’re in luck! We’re here to save the day with these Chevy-themed Father’s Day gifts:

Car mats, remote starters, hood protectors, flashy rims– you name it, Chevy has it. Whatever accessories Dad needs to make his car better can be found on our website.

Chevy-Themed Father's Day Gifts

From hats to T-Shirts, jackets to fleeces, you can pretty much find any style of Chevy clothing to fit Dad’s tastes. If your dad loves his Chevy, ditch the necktie this Father’s Day and get him something with the Chevy bowtie.

Chevy-Themed Father's Day Gifts

Chevy Clocks
At first glance this might seem like a boring or useless gift to give Dad, but you're forgetting that your dad is a Chevy-loving dad. Therefore, a clock immediately becomes more respectable and worth having if it's a Chevy clock. What dad wouldn't want one of these hanging on the wall of his garage or man cave?

Chevy-Themed Father's Day Gifts

Chevy Dog Collar
Of course your dad loves you, but we all know his best friend is the dog (it's obvious when the pooch sits up front more than you do). Help Dad keep the bowtie theme alive and give him a Chevy dog collar for man's best friend.

Chevy-Themed Father's Day Gifts

Chevy Car Wash
Take Dad's Chevy to a car wash and make it shine. Simple enough for Father's Day! In general, a great gift would be to take care of any routine maintenance Dad needs done to his Chevy, all of which can be taken care of at Graff Chevy Durand!

Chevy-Themed Father's Day Gifts

Treat your dad to something different this Father’s Day. Instead of going with a typical gift, wow him one of these Chevy-themed Father's Day gifts. 2017 Chevy Bolt Spotted

2017 Chevy Bolt Spotted

DURAND, Mich.– It’s not everyday that someone’s camera captures a crisp image of lightning, but the images of the 2017 Chevy Bolt spotted in a test-drive are electric.

The 2017 Chevy Bolt spotted was donning black and white camouflage that automakers typically use to disguise their prototypes. Regardless of the camouflage, the vehicle’s shape and creases stand out and ensure that the new EV will be just as stylish as Chevy’s other models.

2017 Chevy Bolt Spotted

Aside from its assumed looks, what makes the 2017 Bolt so intriguing is the astonishing claim that the EV can endure 200 miles on one electric charge. How exactly the hatchback is capable of such distance as an EV is uncertain, but we’re expecting to see something marvelous under the hood once Chevy brings the 2017 Bolt to market, as you can tell in this video:

By keeping the cost of purchase down at $30,000, Chevy plans to broaden its EV consumer segment with the 2017 Bolt, which will be manufactured at General Motors’ factory in Lake Orion, Mich. That’s not a bad price considering the technology behind the 2017 Bolt! There’s a reason why people love buying vehicles from Chevy. The 2017 Bolt is one example, but the New Chevy Cars and New Chevy Trucks at our New Lothrup Area Chevy Dealership also explain why.
