2016 SEMA Chevrolet Preview

DURAND, Mich., –– From Nov. 1st - 4th, the SEMA show is being held in Las Vegas. It is one of Las Vegas' largest annual conventions and the premier automotive specialty trade event in the world. Each year a number of incredible vehicles are showcased and this year Chevrolet featuring approximately 20 new vehicles, including the Blue Line Concept models. Here are a few of our favorites from the 2016 SEMA Chevrolet preview vehicles.

Camaro SS Slammer

This Camaro features an aggressive slammed stance and Dazzling Black exterior with Adrenaline Red interior. With an LT1 6.2L V-8 engine under the hood, it rates at 455 horsepower and 455 lb.-ft. of torque, and is matched with the six-speed manual transmission with Active Rev Match. It also has Chevrolet Performance’s axle-back and stainless steel exhaust system installed for better engine breathing and a deeper exhaust growl.

Silverado 1500 High Desert

This Silverado show truck was designed as an expression of the functional style and performance of Chevy's truck line. It features an all-new, lockable and water resistant cargo system and available Magnetic Ride Control Suspension. Powered by a 6.2L V-8 and backed by the new Hydra-Matic 8L90 eight-speed automatic transmission. The engine is SAE-certified at 420 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque, making it the most powerful engine offered in a light-duty truck. The design team had fun with the aesthetics of this truck. They started with a clean Slate Blue exterior, accented with bronze-tinted trim, and then a unique High Desert theme interior with Cocoa leather seat inserts.

Colorado Z71 Hurley Edition

Chevrolet and Hurley have collaborated to design the perfect mobile unit for surfers and beach enthusiasts. This Colorado comes everything you need including a custom surfboard carrier systems, custom Bimini-style cover for shade on a sunny day, and a bed-mounted Thule rack that for dying wetsuits and storing for drinking-water containers. Additionally, it also has breathable, quick-drying ventiprene seats so your seats will never stay wet from swimsuits again. This truck also boasts a 3.6L V-6 engine, rated at 308 horsepower and 275 lb.-ft. of torque, enabling 7,000 pounds of max towing. The finishing touch is a custom Seafoam Green exterior, complemented by Hurley graphics.

Trax Activ

Toeing the line between trail-ready and urban-chic, the Trax Activ makes the most of its ability to traverse both environments seamlessly. With a lifted suspension, all-terrain tires, an accessory Thule roof basket with mounted custom LED light bar, and custom Satin Sandstorm exterior this crossover leaves no doubt that it is ready for the road less traveled.

Colorado ZH2

The Colorado ZH2 is designed for the U.S. Army to test and evaluate the effectiveness of a hydrogen fuel cell-powered off-road vehicle in mission settings. This behemoth gets its juice from the 93 kW fuel cell system transferred to the 132-kW electric motor, which produces 236 lb.-ft. of instantaneous torque. The hood, front fenders, rear fenders and bed hatch are fabricated from carbon fiber with Kevlar reinforcements. The ZH2 also features a custom 30-inch LED light bar, custom turn signals, and 7-inch front headlights. This truck is ready to handle the toughest missions imaginable.

These vehicles are just five of the approximately 20 vehicles in the 2016 SEMA Chevrolet preview at the convention in Las Vegas from Nov. 1st - 4th. Many of these vehicles may just be concept models but they show that the future is bright at Chevy.

DURAND, Mich. –– Car enthusiasts around the world were revved up for the entire first week of November as automakers rolled out some of the most creative editions of their vehicles imaginable at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, but there's no doubt these four insane 2016 Camaro editions Chevrolet unveiled at SEMA stole the show.

Camaro Hyper

As the name suggests, this Camaro is, indeed, hyper. Whether the name is more an allusion to the Hyper Blue paint Chevy used for the body color or to this sixth-generation muscle car's agility is something we'll let you decide

Camaro Black

Like the burnout marks it's ready to leave on the first stretch of highway it sees, this dangerous looking Camaro SS coupe is as black as black gets––with exception to its red LED headlamps.

Camaro Performance

As Camaro Blacks more innocent twin, Camaro Performance gives you glimpse at Chevy's softer side. But don't underestimate this SS coupe's innocent look; it's still ready for someone to open the throttle.

Camaro Krypton

No, not kryptonite, but possibly just as cool. As Chevy puts it, "Krypton is one of the six noble gases and is used to help illuminate fluorescent lights." Other than looking like the vehicle version of a superhero, this Camaro's special power can be found in the electroluminescent bow-tie graphics that glow on the sides of the body.


It would be difficult to get your hands on the steering wheel of any of these four insane 2016 Camaro editions Chevrolet unveiled at SEMA, and it's almost painful to face that fact. 2015 Suburban Premium Outdoors Concept Debuts at SEMA

DURAND, Mich - Chevrolet is definitely not holding anything back at the Speciality Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show this week as they continue to roll out a fierce lineup of new concept vehicles. Chevy is stepping up their game when it comes to accessories and add-ons, showing customers that the customization of a Chevrolet vehicle can lie completely in their hands. The latest and greatest unveiled notion? The 2015 Suburban Premium Outdoor concept.

The 2015 Suburban Premium Outdoors concept has debuted at SEMA, displaying many notable features. At first glance, nothing about the 2015 Suburban Premium Outdoors concept really screams "outdoorsy". In fact, it is actually quite luxurious looking. Underneath the hood sits a 6.2-liter L86 V8 engine producing 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. This powerful engine generates a hefty 18 percent increase in horsepower and a 20 percent boost in torque over the Suburban's standard 5.3-liter L83 V8. 

On the outside of the Suburban Outdoors concept is a Pepperdust exterior color with a "Warm Tarnished" accent. Of course, the Suburban contains some of the latest accessories like a new grille insert, retractable running boards, and 22-inch wheels with body color accents. But the real talk of the town is the concept's tailgating package. Sports events and concerts will never be the same after this because this package sets the perfect foundation of what every tailgater would need. The tailgating package enhances upon the Suburban's already generous amount of space for passengers and cargo by tacking on a smart HDTV and a handcrafted, wood salvaged table and with benches.
